The war cry of the American Revolution was coined today in 1775 by Hanover County's own, Patrick Henry, at the Rights of the Colonies in Richmond, VA.

Make Hanover Museum of History & Culture one of your stops to celebrate the 250th birthday of our great nation to learn more about Henry and the importance of Hanover County in the founding of the United States of America!

Snowy days and icy sidewalks have us all dreaming of spring! Shake off the winter blues by decorating a bluebird house and learning more about bluebirds this Saturday. All supplies are included. It's the perfect way to warm up, get creative, and get a jump start on spring, and your future bluebirds will thank you!

...And we are back! HMHC is open today from 1000am until 200pm. There is still a lot of ice and drifts out there so IF you visit us (or the County Complex in general), please take your time and look for sidewalks and paths that have been cleared by a hard working Hanover County Parks and Recreation Department.

The Hanover Museum of History and Culture will also be closed 1-2 January and reopening on Saturday between 10a and 2pm.

Hanover County government offices and Circuit Court will be closed January 1-2.

Our solid waste convenience centers will be closed on New Year's Day.

General District Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court will be closed on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
