Thanks to all of you who came to Heritage Day this year and helped make it a success! Special appreciation goes to all of the volunteers and exhibitors who participated. We'd like to recognize our supporters: the Town of Hampden, Calkins Farm Stand and Rawcliffe's Service Center. We celebrated the 250th birthday of our nation with many activities, including a stirring reading of the Declaration of Independence by our resident Town Crier. A great day was had by all!

HHS has been selected as a nonprofit partner in the Hannaford Community Bag Program. We will receive $1.00 for each $2.50 reusable Community Bag (It’s the blue bag!) sold throughout the month of September 2026 at the Hampden Hannaford. Many thanks to Hannaford for your great support.

Monday, August 24 at 6:30 pm. Come and hear Adriana Gleason talk about Lt. Colonel Gabriel Johonnot who was a major in the Marblehead Regiment in 1775 and became a Lieutenant Colonel of the 21st. Born about 1748 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts Bay Colony and died on October 9, 1820 in Hampden. He is buried in the Old Burying Ground in Hampden. Come for the meeting, stay for refreshments!
