McCloskey Wonder Works Museum

Recently we celebrated our region’s Appalachian history with stories (illustrated by our favorite hometown illustrator), music, art, historians and more. Thanks to Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park for hosting such a lovely day and to Inspiration Studios for making our Storytelling backdrop and Linocut print. Seeing all ages make art and celebrating heritage in a wondrous way is what we’re all about!

This week we welcomed students from across Greater Cincinnati to the park for art and nature inspired field trips 🎨 In collaboration with several other organizations, students got to be creative and enjoy a day out of the classroom. This opportunity was made possible by ArtsWave's More Kids, More Arts initiative to provide arts experiences for elementary students. Right now, through their More Arts, More Kids Challenge, donations go twice as far! Learn more here: https://artswave.org/our-impact/more-arts-more-kids-real/

🧐 The McCloskey Wonder Works Museum guided students through a kaleidoscope experiment surrounded by the works of Hamilton's hometown artist, Robert McCloskey

📚 The Lane Libraries were on site with their bookmobile, making bookmarks, and playing reading games

🎨 Then, students enjoyed some peaceful time while drawing in natural landscapes and sculpture-filled spaces throughout the park
