Gonna Let the Cat out of the Bag. We are looking to host an 80th birtday party for the Air Force here at the K. I. Sawyer Heritage Air Museum on September 17th 2027. We are going to try our absolute best to have representation for the 644th Bomb Squadron in the form of a B-52H that was assigned here, a KC-135R that was assigned here (as an A Model) to either the 46th ARS or the 307th ARS, We are going to attempt to have the 87th represented by the 87th FlightTraining Squadron with a T-37 Tallon and the 62nd Fighter Squadron represented by a F35A. We would also like to have a P-40 Warhawk as flown by the 87th in WW2 and or a P-47 as flown by both the 87th and the 62nd during WW2. We haven't much hope of getting an A-20 Havoc in her though since the only flyable A-20 crashed last fall and is still under repair in the Detroit Area. KC-35 Tanker Tail Numbers that we know were converted and are active in the fleet are: 60-0322, 63-7976, and 57-1419
BUT WE WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO HOST A B-17 AND A B-24 AS WELL
