Vietnam Exhibit Jail Cell

During the Vietnam conflict, many American and Vietnamese soilders were taken as prisoners of war. During thier time of capture, these soldiers suffered great physical and psychological torture. This exhibit is meant to simulate that experience. Also includes information on various Mississippi military pilots who were held captive.

Motion Flight Simulators

A simulation where you can fly a plane and the seat moves with you. This is one of our biggest attractions at the museum and it's a lot of fun. There are three Motion flight simulators and each flight is timed for 15 minutes. You get to fly around a Gulfport airforce base and if you like, the sea next to it. You'll also get to practice landing a plane. One of the simulators has a VR headset, making it more fun. Instructions are provided as your flying. Come on by and purchase a ticket. When it's done, you'll want be in an actual plane more often.

Flight Control Room

In this room, visitors can see live coverage of airport takeoffs happening across the country. The computer shows current flights that are going on in and out of the U.S. It's pretty interesting knowing some passengers are flying to Europe or somewhere on vacation; and that you can track that flight easily. The room also has equipment that's used to help track flight patterns and ensure safe landings.

Bases Galley.

This gallery helps teach visitors about the various air force bases located throughout the state of Mississippi. Here you can learn about the origin and impact these bases had during the World Wars. The gallery also includes displays containing manuals, photographs, certificates, and model planes. These items reflect a piece each bases history. For the kids there is a riddle game, where they can win skittles if they answer right.
