10/7 — BRAND NEW 4AM CONE FOR — HIGH END CAT 2 OVER GULF PREDICTED

The cone has been shifted eastward as expected. The center line now around Mobile/Pensacola. Landfall expected late Friday into early Saturday.

NHC raised the intensity to 110 mph over the Gulf, that is high end Cat 2 now.

NHC still mentions high uncertainty on the models as there is some spread still. Everyone inside of the cone needs to still pay close attention to this storm.

This track is a much better scenario for SE , because if you end up west of it the impacts will be far less.

Recon will fly into this storm later this morning. Once they find the actual center that plot position will be used in the afternoon model runs. We will see if that changes anything. Will keep you updated!

Happy First Day of Fall! Though maple trees may be most associated with Vermont or Canada, Florida has multiple native maple trees, including the Florida maple (Acer saccharum subsp. Floridanum), box elder (Acer negundo), and red maple (Acer rubrum). Throughout the season, keep your eyes peeled for the showy red, orange, and yellow maple leaves in North and Central Florida.

Join us for the BIGGEST global cleanup of the year!! Millions of people will be picking up their coastlines all around the world and we will contribute to that number!

Naval Live Oaks Reservation - 1801 Gulf Breeze Pkwy, Gulf Breeze.

Quietwater Beach - 400 Quietwater Beach Rd (behind boardwalk), Pensacola Beach.

Jones Creek - Trailhead B next to Cato's, 400 N. Navy Blvd, Pensacola.

This cleanup will run from Saturday, September 19th 8am-10am. All cleanup supplies will be provided.
Please wear closed toe shoes, bring lots of water, and bring a friend too!! Let's clean up our local waterways and have fun doing it!

Production is now underway on the Documentary "THE JOE GILCHRIST STORY" ! This will be the 4TH Documentary from Producers Dave Barnes and Mike Cotton . Many know Joe from his almost 40 Years as the Major Force behind the Legendary "Flora-Bama" and as Founder of the "Frank Brown International Songwriters Fest". Cotton and Barnes will also capture the many other accomplishments and adventures of Mr. Gilchrist over the past 70 plus years . Teaching school in Southern California , Support for both Active Military & Veterans , Support for The Arts , the first bar and music venue Joe operated in Pensacola , his Days at Auburn , and more . Currently archival film ,video , and photos are being reviewed as possible content . Content submissions are welcome for possible inclusion in the film ( particularly pre 1978) .
