The Limestone County History Museum has a pretty nice website and on that website they have quite a few "orphan" photos --- photos that were donated about which they have no information. Check out this remarkable photo. This is obviously a studio shot, but these women are pretending to be engaged in some activity. Any ideas what it is? Is it just sewing? Do y'all think maybe they are sisters? And check out the hat on the lady third from the left. That's an all-timer!

The Limestone County Historical Museum would like to thank Rachel Newman for donating this World War II era US Army 8th Service Command patch. This unit was active in the United States in states like Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Texas. The Mexia Prisoner of War Camp (Camp Mexia), which housed German POWs, was under the authority of this unit, and the servicemen who were stationed there would have worn this patch.

The Limestone County Historical Museum would like to thank Charles McDaniel for donating this Houston & Texas Central Railroad Company Rules and Instructions booklet, which was published in 1902. The H&TC Railroad was originally built from Houston to Dallas, ran through Limestone County, and established the towns of Kosse, Thornton, Groesbeck, and Mexia.

The Limestone County Historical Museum would like to thank the Limestone County Historical Commission for donating a copy of the report concerning the exhumation of graves in the Head Cemetery and reburial in the Ebenezer Cemetery. The Head Cemetery was located within the boundaries of the Kosse Mine, and the process of moving the burials took place from October 2011 through March 2012.
