Today is a day of remembrance. A remembrance of a generation the answered the call to fight for freedom. On this day 80 years ago men of the 82nd 101st, 1st infantry division, 29th infantry division, as well as elements from the the army rangers land at Normandy France, as well as other allied forces such as the British and Canadian forces. On this day we honor the men who gave there live in the name of freedom. Men who gave the ultimate sacrifice. We walk on the backs of giants. Please read the speech below. Eisenhower supreme allied commander gave this morning 80 years ago today. The speech speaks for it self.

Soldiers, Sailors, and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force!

You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hope and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on other Fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of N**i tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world.

Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle-hardened. He will fight savagely.

But this is the year 1944! Much has happened since the N**i triumphs of 1940-41. The United Nations have inflicted upon the Germans great defeats, in open battle, man-to-man. Our air offensive has seriously reduced their strength in the air and their capacity to wage war on the ground. Our Home Fronts have given us an overwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions of war, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained fighting men. The tide has turned! The free men of the world are marching together to Victory!

Today, 82 years ago, America was changed forever! “December 7, 1941 a date which will live in infamy. The United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan“ that phrase was spoken in Franklin D. Roosevelt’s address to Congress the day after the attack on Pearl Harbor commenced. Over 2000 American lives and servicemen and women were killed that day. 1,177 Just on the US battleship USS Arizona, which was struck by high-level bomb in sink in less than 15 minutes. Today 82 years ago America was plunged into World War II and from that day, America has never been the same. Those of you who know me I am a huge history enthusiast and I have been studying World War III since I was a little boy, especially Pearl Harbor. Today we honored those who lost their lives and service to this country. We honor the greatest generation that has ever lived. I hope you all enjoy this post. Thank you.
