Walker Hill would like to wish everyone a very safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday! We are very thankful to the many volunteers (pictured below in white t-shirts) who helped make our 2018 Fall Fundraiser on Nov. 3 a big success! This includes the Griffin Church of Christ for providing their parking lot for Walker Hill visitors to use. We couldn't have done it without all of y'all being part of the team!
We are also thankful to Bonnie M. Moret Photography for documenting the Fall Fundraiser and many other Walker Hill events with stellar photography. Thank you all so much for generously giving your time and expertise to support Walker Hill!
Walker Hill would like to send out a very special "THANK YOU" to our incredible volunteers on Nov. 3! You each gave of your time and your efforts created a magical atmosphere for our visitors. We appreciate all that you did and look forward to seeing you again soon!

Thirty-seven students from Overcomers' Academy in Thomaston, Ga., recently spent a day learning and engaging history at the Walker Hill Museum. Their custom-guided history lesson featured life in the 1900s, geography, advances in telecommunications and music.
Geography came to life with a reenactment of a 1929 sailing trip across the Atlantic. The journey through advances in telecommunications featured telephones from 1905 to modern cellular technology. In addition, the students experienced the sounds of antique player pianos. A few students even channeled their inner Johann Sebastian Bach and played a vintage pipe organ.
The Walker Hill Museum brings the 1900s to life by showing students how transportation, communication, home life, theatre and music have evolved over the last 120 years.
