“I think I’ll have a V8!” This tandem has made quite an impression here at the #bmwccafoundation in the current exhibit, GENESIS: BMW From the Beginning Presented by The Werk Shop.
1965 3200 CS, currently here at the #bmwccafoundation as part of the exhibit, GENESIS: BMW From the Beginning Presented by The Werk Shop.
Had more requests for more from our Heroes of Bavaria exhibit from 2017. This CSL was always a favorite of visitors to the #bmwccafoundation for this exhibit!
2020 now fading further in the rear view mirror. The GENESIS: BMW From the Beginning Presented by The Werk Shop exhibit remains open. Come on by!
Charging into the new year! Happy New Year, everyone!
Reflecting on a crazy 2020. Thank you to all the visitors, volunteers, supporters, and staff who have helped the BMW CCA Foundation through what has been a tough year for many 🙏
Wait, a Ferrari? Why a Ferrari? ⬇️⬇️
The BMW CCA Foundation Board and Staff wish to thank their many supporters for your donations made on Giving Tuesday, December 1, 2020. With your support, the Foundation can help support our Tire Rack Street Survival (TRSS) program, which teaches teens to drive safely, as well as our Museum operations, including our latest exhibit, "GENESIS: BMW from the Beginning," which showcases beautiful vintage BMWs from 1927-1965.
During this COVID-19 pandemic, we have been unable to raise sufficient funds due to the temporary halting of our TRSS Program, and the inability to share our Museum exhibit with a larger number of visitors. With only three days left in the year, we are seeking end-of-year financial support from our loyal enthusiasts and donors.
We are the only independent BMW-exclusive Museum in North America. We depend upon our BMW enthusiasts for support of our programs and exhibits.
As we approach the end of this challenging year, we reach out to those who have not had the chance to make their gift to the Foundation. Donations do come in different ways. Your contributions may consist of:
- Cash and credit card donations
- Appreciated securities
- Gifts of BMW collectibles, such as models, memorabilia, etc. or
- Donations of vehicles for sale or for the Archives.
For example, we are delighted to inform our supporters of a recent donation from our long-time Trustee, Leo Newland, who donated his 2016 Ferrari California T to the Foundation. Leo is one of the Founders of the Foundation and has served our Board for nearly 20 years. We are so grateful for his extremely generous donation and support.
But one doesn't have to donate a Ferrari! A long time BMW owner but new supporter, Byron Angel, donated his 1992 BMW M5 to the Foundation for sale, which netted the Foundation $9,500.
Under the CARES Act, even if you take the standard deduction, this year only, you can make an additional $300 donation to a charity and get the tax advantage.
Together, with your support, we can prevail in our mission," Savings Lives, Saving History." Your donation makes a difference!
To donate cash, simply go to our website, https://bmwccafoundation.org/support-the-foundation/donate-page and make your gift. To donate Securities, Vehicles, or Collectables, please contact us directly. As a 501(c)(3) organization, your gift is tax-deductible as allowed by law.
Thank you and happy holidays!
A little 2002 fun (ok, a lot of fun) back to the closing of the ICON exhibit in January with ALPINA’s own Andreas Bovensiepen inspecting and then driving this ALPINA 2002 at the BMW Performance Center track.
Merry Christmas from the BMW CCA Foundation!
It looks like Santa has a new sleigh! Your standard 1940 BMW 335 Autenrieth-bodied cabriolet. And if anything were to happen to this sleigh, well, we suppose Santa could use one of the only eight others so-bodied. 😳🎅
Not your typical Santa sleigh...
We thought for sure Steve and Mary Walker’s BMW 700 Sport Coupe would fit IN the stockings!
Two of the older cars here in the exhibit, GENESIS: BMW From the Beginning, Presented by The Werk Shop.

The 503 coupe, 503 cabriolet, & 507 roadster. Part of the exhibit, GENESIS: BMW From the Beginning Presented by The Werk Shop here at the #bmwccafoundation
Can you identify what year is this first car and what are the other two cars? All three are part of the exhibit, GENESIS: BMW From the Beginning, Presented by The Werk Shop here at the #bmwccafoundation.
Second pic is a big hint—any guesses in which car you’ll find this? It’s one of the 24 classic BMW cars and motorcycles here in the exhibit, GENESIS: BMW From the Beginning Presented by Tha Werk Shop.
How’s this for a nice line up of 3s for a #throwbackthursday to our 2017 Heroes of Bavaria exhibit. If you’re wondering which one is missing in the first pic, see second pic. (And can you see the bonus “3” in this first pic?)
.
Purchase the Heroes of Bavaria book and get a free Heroes exhibit poster through Dec 14.
Books! Exhibit books for the holidays!
.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Find that special somebody you know (perhaps even yourself!) a gift they'll remember. Our exhibition books are custom made to reflect each of our car displays. And - while they are exquisite to flip through - also a good read!
And in the spirit of the holidays, a free matching exhibition poster is included with each book purchase. Buy an ICON book - get an ICON poster. Same for Heroes, Passion, and Genesis.
We saw the December issue of Roundel and the 8-page story on this #e36touring and since our man, Michael Mitchell, was quoted in the story—and drove the car!—we figured we’d start ///MMonday with this #msport. 😃
A little red for the holidays...?

More peeks back—the Parker Spooner 2800CS of Lou Ann and Lonny Shirk is so revered, it is now on part of the permanent collection in the museum! Thank you, Lou Ann and Lonny, for all your continued support!
Or maybe Michael Washington’s E30M3 in the PASSION exhibit was your favorite?
Robert Chandler’s S14 swapped 02 was always a favorite of ICON exhibit visitors.
Part of our peek back at past exhibitions...did you have a favorite?
Last chance for gas! The sale ends tomorrow (Monday) night. Just a reminder that in addition to great deals, you can pick up a free M4 work apron or blanket with a purchase of $35 and $70, respectively! All hats, long-sleeve shirts, and vests are on sale. Happy Thanksgiving from your friends at the #bmwccafoundation 😃🦃
For those of you that don't know it, the Reid Pepin, Parker Spooner, Michael Izor, & Lonny/Lou Ann Shirk 1970 E9 2800 CS is now part of our permanent collection in the Museum. Looking through the large collection of documents that came with the car is a copy of the September 1980 Roundel magazine which features this coupe. I noticed a Massachusetts BMW CCA license plate on the front. This looked vaguely familiar to me. I went to a recent donation made by Mark Francis who gave some vintage BMW personalized license plates to Lance White. What do I find, but the BMW CCA plate that came from THIS very car. Now the plate has been returned to the coupe. It will now be proudly displayed with the car for all to see.
It might be hard to believe the 2002 (or this 1600-2 in the third pic) and this 3200CS (2nd) are actually only 2 years apart. (Notice any similarities in the taillights?) These two “2002s” were in the ICON exhibit while this 1965 3200CS is in our current exhibit, GENESIS: BMW From the Beginning Presented by The Werk Shop.
If you think this is a super car, you’re right; it’s a 1960 BMW 3.2 Super currently here at the exhibit GENESIS: BMW From the Beginning Presented by The Werk Shop.
