Art doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens in classrooms full of curiosity, in moments of discovery, in conversations between neighbors, in spaces where people feel free to create, learn, and be seen.

At GCCA, your support helps make those moments possible. Every donation helps give artists room to grow, children and students opportunities to explore their creativity, and our community a place to connect through new ideas, new voices, and shared experiences.

This November, GCCA’s Community Gallery presents Root & Canopy, an exhibition featuring current GCCA Studio Artists and exploring place, growth, and the creative lives artists build over time.

From memory and community to process, environment, risk, and experimentation, the exhibition brings together distinct practices taking shape within GCCA’s studios.

GCCA’s Emerging Artist Studio Program supports artists at the beginning of their professional journey with affordable studio space, community, and thoughtful guidance as they develop their practice. Through partially subsidized rent, access to shared spaces, and structured conversations with GCCA’s Gallery Director, the program gives emerging artists room to grow without the pressures of an academic setting.

The 2026 Emerging Artist is Meredith Birch, a local artist and educator whose work explores creativity, wellness, and personal reflection. With more than a decade of experience in arts education, Birch creates opportunities for experimentation, mindfulness, and connection while expanding her own studio practice and engagement with Greenville’s arts community.

Come visit Meredith at her second floor GCCA studio, and join us in supporting arts access for all!
