Magic In The Metal

Magic In The Metal Wearable curiosities and whimsical finery! Custom designed orders available by request.

Toreutics Studios presents: Sculpture, Metalworking, Raising, Etching, Chasing and Repousse, Casting, Metal Art, Custom original Designs in precious and nonprecious metals. MagicInTheMetal and Toreutics Studios are the result of combining two decades of artistic metalworking with a bench jewelers apprenticeship, training in sculptural design, and a never ending self-guided exploration of metalwork

ing processes. MagicInTheMetal specializes in ancient metalworking techniques as well as modern fabrication styles, inventing artful creations inspired by sciences, antique toys, kinetic mechanisms, ancient treasures, literature, sacred texts, and folk tales from cultures all over the world! We work with (but are not limited to) precious and semiprecious metals, recycled metals materials, gem stones, ceramic clays, and trinkets of historical value. All items are hand-formed by fire and force, for the invention of treasures (wearable and non-wearable) of all-original design. Please feel free to call for commission inquiries, or email your inquiries to [email protected] and put "Commission", with your first and last names in the subject line.

We are happy to announce that by mid 2017, Toreutics Studios hopes to bring not-for-profit, volunteer-based short workshops to the children residents of select group homes in the upstate. Our hopes are to inspire our youth through the magic of science and art, and the beginners processes of metalworking as a craft! For more information on the planning and details of this project,
please contact [email protected], and put "We want to make stuff!' in the subject line of your email. Before 2018, Toreutics Studios hopes to offer basic workshops available to the public, for affordable pricing, with discounts offered to high school students who are looking to build up their portfolios prior to gaining acceptance into art institutions of higher learning. It is our hopes to eventually offer varying levels of instruction on a variety of basic metalworking processes, up to the advanced fabrication of fine metal artworks.
