Every day, visitors from near and far enjoy experiencing the magical unspoiled wetlands, prairies, hammocks, and pinelands that make up Myakka River State Park. And more often than not, this very special place leaves its mark on those who visit. In fact, many of us, so very touched by Myakka’s Magic, are then compelled to leave our own mark in return, through acts of service, or by financially supporting the park.

But due to multiple recent acts of vandalism, we are saddened to have to remind park visitors that leaving a PHYSICAL mark in the park is strictly prohibited, as ALL plants, animals and park property are protected. And moreover, that defacing our beloved Myakka trees through carving (as pictured), not only detracts from the wild value of the park most of us so appreciate and love, it also damages Myakka’s sensitive ecosystems.

Please help us protect Myakka’s Magic by sharing this post and the very clear message that the collection, destruction or disturbance of plants, animals or park property at Myakka River State Park is prohibited, with legal consequences to offenders. And, let's all of us also be mindful to take extra care to minimally impact the park we love so much!

GALLERY ON THE LAKE IS CLOSED
The Gallery first opened in November of 2008 at 35 Pritham Avenue in Downtown Greenville. In the spring of 2021 The Gallery moved to 3 Lakeview Street where we had a view and breezes from Up The Lake.

We know we have had the best Maine and Moosehead Area artists and crafters in the whole world! Over the years, they have become friends and family. Also, we will miss the best customers and Gallery visitors in the whole world!

Please don’t forget to keep in your thoughts and prayers, Nancy Chase, who joined us as MOOSEHEAD CHRISTMAS during our last 2 years of business. She is a treasure! We all wish her well.

Way to go Mark!

Loving my "Kissing Moose" image on the front cover of MAINE INVITES YOU, Maine's Official Travel Planner and Adventure Guide. Forty-three years ago, a photographer friend, John Green, said I had to travel to Maine's Baxter State Park to photograph Moose. Starting in 1980, I officially became hooked on Moose. I never missed a year. Some years I made the trip from Western Massachusettes multiple times. In later years, I managed to stay 2 months of the year - both June for newborn calves and Fall for the annual Moose Rut until moving to Maine permanently in 2010. Maine is just as inviting today as it was back then. Abundant in wildlife, beautiful landscapes, and adventure. Looking for your own Maine adventure?
