Are you going to be out and about around 11 on Thursday morning, June 11th? Marc will be pulling the first proof of this block he's been chipping away at for weeks at StopWatch Gallery & Studio (323 S Main Street, Greensburg PA) and you're welcome to drop by and see what happens. Smell the ink, experience the joy of seeing the first print, and watch him grimace and groan and come to terms with what he's done. He's been looking at this block for a long time, and now he gets to see the results in black and white and reversed.
This is also a perfect opportunity to see "Genius Loci: The Pathos of Places", the exhibition that is currently up in the gallery. It's an amazing show, and you only have until the 13th to see it, so why not stop in Thursday morning?
And you know what this isn't? Anything to do with AI! If a Chinese printmaker from the 9th century, or a European one from the 15th century were to drop in tomorrow, there would be nothing about the process that they wouldn't understand. They would just wonder about his crappy wood. Sorry, ancient printmakers.
