Our scenic motorcar rides in Grand Rapids come to a close this weekend for 2026.

Our inaugural Pumpkin Patch Motorcar Hayrides wrap up the operating season October 24, 25, and 31st. We are using a timetable for this seasonal event, so please head over to https://tlew.org/pumpkin-patch-motorcar-hayrides/ for additional information and to reserve a time slot for you and your family. We proudly credit our Clover Leaf Crew y-mow team for all their hard work putting this program together.

The weather looks to be a little crisp but gorgeous for a fall ride on the Clover Leaf this weekend. Bring your jackets! As always, call 419-878-2177 option 2 on Saturdays and Sundays after 11am to speak with a ticket agent to confirm we are running.

We do hope to see you this weekend in Grand Rapids! We encourage our guests to check out the charming shops of Downtown Grand Rapids Ohio and the upcoming seasonal activities coordinated through the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce, Ohio.

The Brookville 117 (1957), on loan to the museum, got some needed rehabilitation work today and was out for a short run around the wye this evening. Next up: a fresh coat of paint.

Applebutter Fest 2026! A little wet this morning, but that should start clearing up by mid-late morning when the festival officially opens. Besides, it's NW Ohio in October.

Our parking lot will be a bit wet - but open - at Saylor Ln via Poe Rd. You can take the rail-based shuttle to 3rd and Wapakoneta. Use our Google Maps directions to Saylor Ln. under "Shuttle" on the events page (link above). Cash & cards accepted.

We will have directional signs at Poe & Wapakoneta and Poe & Pratt to guide you in.

Reserve your seats today!

The TLE&W has seen some spooky days of late.

Our younger maintenance-of-way members have a fall ride ready: Pumpkin Patch Motorcar Hayrides. October 24, 25, and Halloween Day. The consist leaves on the hour from the Front Street river crossing, noon to 6 p.m., back by 7. About 45 minutes. Ten dollars a person, cash or card.

Bring the kids in their Halloween outfits, pick a pumpkin, and take some pictures. Never know what you'll find lurking in the woods.

Reservations are strongly encouraged. Each run holds 16 people.

We are excited to announce a new museum program!

First, I will start by informing everyone that the maintenance of way team is officially being branded the "Clover Leaf Crew".

Now for the NEWS: officially starting in January of 2027, we will have the Youth Maintenance of Way (MOW) Gang. This program is for our younger members 14-20.

We've been quietly piloting this program since the Spring with really good results. We've had additional members join the pilot program and now we're rolling it out.

That is Preserve · Restore · Educate, said the way we mean it. We keep the line. We put our hands on the work that restores it. We teach the trades that carry Northwest Ohio’s railroad heritage forward.

What a week. A whole bunch of our members put in real time and elbow grease, and it shows.

Casey and Heather P finished up the spray rig.

Kurt H got the interpretive signage in place at 3rd Street, so folks can learn a little more about our outdoor collection while they're walking the grounds.

Beth M, Eric B, and Sawyer H ran the motorcar.

Janice H mowed at Saylor Ln.

Eric B was out w**d whacking during the week.

Michael G took care of maintenance on the Lorre carts for the Applebutter Festival.

Kurt H and Eric B continuing to clean and organize the front car shop.

Michael C, Jude S, Durrell J, and Neil S painted the America 250 carts for Applebutter Fest.

Terry C and Beth M worked on the Toledo Terminal 702 restoration.

Sawyer H worked on front car shop electrical mapping and mechanical repair on campus.

Andy C worked on museum program development, Applebutter Festival programming, and getting the technology infrastructure ready.

Sawyer H, Mason L, and Jude S worked on program development.

Andy C and Mason L built the event graphics and signage for Applebutter Fest

This is the work that keeps us able to preserve what we've got, restore what needs tending, and educate the people who come through. Sure appreciate every one of you.
