The Grand Prairie Historical Organization celebrated a 50 year birthday last year, 2025. This newsletter information gives you a little history of where we have been meeting since 2000. This building did not have "formal" historical significance until the GPHO board presented the reasons it met that historical significance. The city recognized that and restored the building to meet the needs of our museum idea. We are very thankful and appreciative of their decision.
Stop by the GPHO Museum tomorrow, Saturday, May 2, any time between 1pm and 4pm. and find out about the history of the building.

We have a new display in the big case. Bring the kids in to see what they missed being born in the last century 😃 There are a lot of things throughout the museum that many people may not have seen in a VERY long time or EVER!
Did you have any of the toys pictured here?

Throwback Thursday.
Are you currently a Grand Prairie Rotary member?
How long have you been a member?
Have you been an officer?
It would be nice to have more group photos of the GP Rotary members from over the years for our historical archives.

GPHO would like to thank each of the volunteers from the Eight Street Baptist Church! They blessed the Museum by cleaning the front flower beds, planting new plants, and putting down mulch. It was cold that morning and they never complained and did a fantastic job.
If you know or see Pastor Matt Woods or any of the volunteers pictured, please tell them they have a big heart for their community.
Thank you to the City of Grand Prairie for organizing The Big Event each March. So many citizens have been helped since this began.

PLEASE stop by the museum and see their hard work in the beautiful flower beds. Come in and take a look at all of the new additions to the Museum. Mon - Sat, 1pm to 4pm, 1516 W. Main Street, Grand Prairie, 75050.
