Melissa Duphorne and Juan Trujillo, the current GPISD interns from GP Collegiate Institute, were at the museum to give a tour to visitors. John Wylie, GPHO Life Member, invited brothers Dan & Ronnie Spencer to see the museum displays. Ronnie & Dan both grew up in Grand Prairie.

October 4–10, 2026 is National Yearbook Week.
If you don’t have yours, stop by the GPHO Museum and take a look at the ones we have out for visitors to look through.
We don’t have every year, so if you ever find extras that you don’t need or see any at a garage sale or estate sale, PLEASE consider purchasing and donating to the museum.

It is always a treat to give a special tour of the museum and reminisce about Grand Prairie people and places. Our guests often have tidbits of information that we need to know to add to history. It was fun to photograph them in front of the Goodwin Cabin backdrop.

The Grand Prairie Liberty Bell is back and looking GRAND for 50 years old! It was unveiled tonight with a ribbon cutting. A new stage and gathering place for downtown city events, too.

This post with photo of Graham's Barber Shop, was the first one posted on this page back in 2012. The Grahams were very early citizens and business owners in Grand Prairie.
Tomorrow, September 27, is Ancestors Day. How many of you have ancestors who were here in the early 1900's? We NEED the HISTORY for YOUR family for the GPHO archives. If you have photos or other memorabilia to donate, please stop by the museum Monday - Saturday, 1pm- 4pm to speak with a volunteer. You may call the museum at 972-639-3388 to leave a message for the museum director.
As a note of interest, the Graham's still have descendants who live in Grand Prairie.

The City of Grand Prairie is going to unveil the refurbished GP Liberty Bell. Come out to be with other citizens to enjoy seeing the beautiful restoration.
