Frasera speciosa (also known as Monument Plant, Green Gentian, or Elkweed), are in bloom on the Grand Mesa. With stalks around 5 ft. tall, these plants only flower once. Research suggests that environmental factors which trigger flowering occur 3-4 years prior to the actual bloom!
