People have been drying gourds for 1.000's of years and remains of gourd bowls have been found in the tombs of Egyptian Pharaohs. Gourds have been used as fishing bobbers, tools, vessels, music instruments and many types of arts and crafts.Gourds belong to the family Cucurbitaceae which include squash, pumpkin, cucumber and melons.
