It's day 2 of WCIL Gives we are off to a great start together we can turn the page to a new chapter! We have two campaigns we are supporting this year first is a race against time to permanently protect the fragile historical record of our community. To ensure it is never lost to time or decay, the Golden Friends is raising funds to purchase professional grade archival scanners and specialized software. The ultimate goal is to digitize the entire collection of Larry Haschemeyer's Golden Memories creating a permanant, free online rspository for residents, descendants and researchers. Second campaign turns its focus inward, aiming to overhaul the library's heavily utilized interior spaces to better serve local youth and daily patrons. The hope is to create permanant storage cabinets in the checkout area as well as a more useful desk space for the checkout and to replace folding tables with computer desks for public use to better utilize the space. The dual campaigns represent the core identity of the Golden Friends: honoring where the community came from while building a better space for the future!
