Speaking of… the Yorktown Campaign.

Join us Saturday, October 17, as Major General (Ret.) Vincent de Kytspotter, PhD, launches FAMG’s new Speaking of… series with a look at the Yorktown Campaign, the Battle of the Capes, and the Siege of Yorktown.

We’re delighted to kick off the series alongside the Gloucester Museum of History and Gloucester Tourism, bringing even more of Gloucester’s story into the conversation.

On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we recognize the people whose history on this land reaches back long before Gloucester had its present name or boundaries.

The First Inhabitants scene in Six Scenes, One Place: The Story of Gloucester begins our story with the Algonquian-speaking communities who lived along these rivers and waterways as part of the Powhatan Chiefdom.

Today is an opportunity to recognize that Gloucester’s history did not begin with English arrival.
