This is a great local opportunity!!Lawnside Historical Society's Underground Railroad Camp that will focus on photography with award-winning photographer Erik James Montgomery.

Sixth through 8th graders can blend learning about the Underground Railroad in South Jersey with learning photography at this summer camp in Lawnside, NJ from June 23 - 27. Enrollment is just $25 for the week, scholarships are available! Go to petermotthouse.org/blog/ to register.

Volunteers Needed

The Gloucester Township Historic and Scenic Preservation Committee is a volunteer organization dedicated to preserving and educating the history of Gloucester Township. If you live in the township and like history, please consider volunteering or possibly becoming a member. The committee meets once a month and participates in several community events throughout the year including: Tours of the historic Gabreil Daveis Tavern house, Gloucester Township Day, The South Jersey History Fair, the Pumpkin Festival, and paranormal events at the Gabreil Daveis Tavern.

Positive changes are happening at the Gabreil Daveis Tavern Museum!!! The last owner, William Schuck, and a few friends, added a powder room to his house in the 1960s. The bathroom has been separating from the building and needed to be removed. Fencing is up around the work area. Tours will still be available on the second and fourth Sundays from 1-4pm!!!

Blacksmithing, cannon firing, tomahawk throwing, primitive arrow shooting, militia drills, tours of the Gabreil Daveis Tavern, and colonial children’s games are just some of the activities available!!!
