The Glendale Historical Society has partnered with the Alex Film Society once again for their 2026 Classic Film series on the Doctors House lawn in Brand Park. Film fans, bring your chairs, blankets, and picnic dinners and enjoy the first of this summer's FREE outdoor screenings with family, friends and neighbors!

Scheduling update: Join us this Sunday, 4/26 at 2pm for a tour of the Doctors House! Then, Join us on the road on Sunday May 3 for the annual TGHS Home Tour! Our docents will be leading exceptional tours at 5 different houses in Glendale, therefore the museum will be closed that day, and Mother's Day as well. Discover the legacy of Piedad Yorba Sowl, the celebrity restaurateur who enticed development in Glendale with her Spanish delights. From serving food to serving “beef,” she was a smart and courageous woman who took on Leslie Brand and Henry Huntington- and won! The second half of the Greetings from Glendale exhibition, this oral history will be shared with the visual aids of the postcards that were sold as souvenirs from Yorba Sowl’s several locations, exploring her entrepreneurial spirit, and celebrating her lasting legacy of the Casa Verdugo Historic District.
