I’ve been taking some time to reflect on my dear friend, James Lew. Learning of his passing that evening left me with a truly heavy heart.

I’ve had the privilege of knowing James since the 1970s. Back then, he was the face of all those iconic ads in Inside Kung Fu—he looked absolutely phenomenal, larger than life. When we finally met, we clicked instantly. From that day on, he remained a true, steadfast friend.

When I first launched the museum, James was right there in our corner. He didn't just offer kind words; he championed our cause, spread the word, and opened doors to connect us with the right people. For 27 years, he never stopped supporting our mission or standing by our side.

I am so deeply grateful for the bond we shared over the decades. Above all, I am going to miss our conversations, his generosity, and his friendship. Rest in peace, my friend.
