We have good news and bad.

The good news is that the museum's interior is getting a fresh paint job! Everything will be nice and clean when it is finished.

The bad news is that the Heritage Museum will have to be closed from Monday, June 8th through Sunday, July 5th. We will reopen on Monday, July 6th for our regular hours. You can still visit our booth at Homecoming and sit at the Yanda Cabin for the Homecoming parade!

We apologize for the inconvenience but we hope you understand our efforts to maintain this historic building.

A group from Woodlawn Cemetery has put together a tombstone preservation workshop! On Saturday, June 6th, the Glen Carbon Heritage Museum is hosting the classroom portion of the workshop. After a lunch break, participants will get hands on training at Woodlawn Cemetery. Tickets are required, see registration page for details.

The Glen Carbon Heritage Museum was honored to be involved in two Memorial Day services last Sunday. Thank you to Oaklawn Cemetery, Glen Carbon and Buck Road Cemetery - Maryville, IL for allowing us to honor those who dedicated their lives to serve the United States.

Museum Manager Samantha will be speaking at the Memorial Day services at Oaklawn Cemetery, Glen Carbon and Buck Road Cemetery - Maryville, IL on Sunday, May 17th. These services are open to the public and you are all invited to attend. Read more about these events in the The Edwardsville Intelligencer article below.

The Memorial Day ceremonies will include wreath placements, military salutes and readings honoring veterans buried at both sites.
