Take a tour of the nearly 200 year old cemetery by candlelight and learn about some of the historic figures buried at the site--their stories told by reenactors in historical costume.

There are two tours offered: 7:00 P.M. and 8:30 P.M. on Saturday, October 17th. Tickets are $15 and pre-registration is required.

Just three more days to see the exhibit Lace, Laugh, Love: Wedding History in Missouri! Don't miss out on seeing an 1890s wedding dress, a groom's vest from the 1850s, and much more.

Next week, Wednesday, October 7, the next exhibit will open. Declaration 1776: The Big Bang of Modern Democracy is a traveling exhibit from the Gilder Lehrman Institute for American History!

Due to weather conditions, the Friends of Atkins-Johnson Farm and Museum has cancelled the Big Shoal Country Fair scheduled for tomorrow, September 26th.

The Museum will still be open, and there will be pumpkin sales at the Big Shoal Farm!

The front lawn of The Atkins-Johnson Farm and Museum, where the Big Shoal Country Fair would be set up, has been soaked by the ongoing rain. With more expected overnight and tomorrow during the event, the decision has been made to cancel the Fair. We’re disappointed too ☹️ HOWEVER...
The Museum will still be open from 11a to 4p. Always FREE Admission
AND
The Big Shoal Farm Pumpkin Field will be open - hours TBA

The Big Shoal Country Fair is this Saturday, Sept 26th from 10am to 3pm
Open to the Public with FREE Admission to the Grounds and Fun Zone offering activities for kids of all ages!!

A $5.00 wristband allows access to the Petting Zoo, Jr Axe Throwing, Bounce House, and UNLIMITED PLAY in the Kids Game and Activity Zone.

Enjoy Live Music from the Alpen Spielers from noon to 3p, Italian Shaved Ice, Big Dave’s BBQ, and these 2026 Fair Vendors:
