Gillett Area Historical Society Established in 2003, Gillett Area Historical Society purchased a home which became a museum in 2007. In 2007 they purchased the former home of the Walter W.

~ Gillett Area Historical Society was established in 2003. Smith Family. A descendant of Walter Smith had lived in the home until about 2005. The house was build in 1910, after Walter Smith

had built a house for his parents across the street, later known as the Hicks house. This house was destroyed by fire years later, and a ranch style house built on the lot, next to the "Sohr House ." The museum houses many artifacts donated by Gillett area families. A carriage house was built in back of the museum to accomadate larger item which have been donate. Come visit the Museum With a Past!
