If you love quilts, we have a special surprise for you this upcoming Wednesday, August 26th!

From 12 to 4 p.m., several quilts from our collection will be on display for the public. This is a rare opportunity to see pieces that are not typically on view at Beyond the Battle Museum.

This free event is open to everyone. Donations to help preserve our collection are always appreciated.

This Friday is Gettysburg Founders Day!

In recognition of the founding of Gettysburg and the town’s founder, James Gettys, Beyond the Battle will offer 50% off admission for all guests on Friday, August 14th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.*

At 6 p.m., join the Gettysburg DAR at Evergreen Cemetery for a wreath-laying and graveside ceremony in honor of James and Mary Gettys. The program will feature an appearance by historian Tim Smith.

New exhibit alert!

In 1913, the Philadelphia Athletics once again defeated the New York Giants becoming world champions for the third time in four years. That November, local friends of Gettysburg native and Athletics ace Eddie Plank held a banquet in his honor at the Eagle Hotel. Among the attendees was George Allen "Pop" Hughes, who collected several souvenirs from the event, including a framed program, a pin, and paper mâché baseball. Notably, the souvenir ball bears the signatures of three baseball Hall of Famers: Plank, Connie Mack, and Eddie Collins.

This incredible artifact is now on display in Gallery 11: Preservation & Progress at Beyond the Battle.

Beyond the Battle is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 625 Biglerville Road. Plan your visit today!
