The Schiele’s exceptional museum exhibits include dinosaur fossils, wildlife displays, gems and minerals, and American Indian artifacts. In addition, the museum has a state-of-the-art planetarium, a Nature Trail, a replica Catawba Indian Village, and “The Farm”, a showcase of local agriculture and live animals.

The Schiele’s grounds crew took some time off from landscaping recently to tackle the floor of the Grist Mill. They replaced worn joists and floorboards, working around uneven terrain, stubborn boulders, and summer heat. 🔥

The Grist Mill is a landmark on the Nature Trail, and houses Gemstone Mining 💎- a popular activity for school groups and summer visitors. Thanks to our hardworking team for making the area safe and ready for many more years of mining! 😍

Get out your wands and robes for on Saturday, 9/12. Explore magical creatures, potions, wand-making, and MORE after the museum closes to the public.

Enjoy classes in herbology, charms, & potions. Play a game of quidditch. Plan a visit to Diagon Alley for butterbeer, enchanted merchandise, and a costume contest for wizards of all ages!

🦖 Celebrate the opening of the new Hall of Dinosaurs by following the Gaston County ! Discover local businesses offering dino-themed merchandise, menu items, and attractions for families, and collect a unique dino trading card from each stop - only for a limited time.

📍Pick up a Dino Trail map (available at The Schiele or any stop), then sample desserts, get drinks, play in a dino cave, discover tasty food, hit the mini golf course, and MORE while you explore dino-friendly businesses in Gaston County. Along the way, collect all 22 trading cards featuring some of the dinos in the new exhibit.
