These cards were hand painted and laid on card in Peking around 1900. There are 24 in all and they come with the original box. They were probably purchased by a tourist as table name tags, with guest names written on the card when used. I think I like it because it has its original box with the seller’s label.

This 1921 Aeromarine, promotional pamphlet is a milestone of US aviation history. Not only was this the first scheduled international flight but it also carried US airmail, the only private company to do so at the time. It took another 25 years before the FAA was formed…

Here we have a program from the first world ski championships to be held outside Europe. There are two factors adding to its importance. 1 the cover was designed by noted Aspen artist Herbert Bayer and 2. There are numerous event associated pieces of ephemera stapled in. Did you know Camp Smith was a to***co farm first? I didn’t know this when I purchased this Peekskill cigar box. I have photographed all the wrappers attached but wait till you see what I found inside…. I would guess the box is from the 1800’s and the contents some time soon after.

Volume 1, #9 of a magazine for growers and dealers in nursery stock from 1893. The back cover is advertising color plates for seed catalogs and the lead article is on the oldest grape growing region in the US which of course is central New York. I am informed that the Finger Lake region is now the most rapidly growing area once again.

If you have an old mandoline lying around needing strings let me know. The illustrated package from the 1880’s still has its “cord superieure” within.

Here are a pair of 1904 Singapore post cards sent by a British ship captain to his sweetheart back home. I really like what he wrote on the front and the cancellation stamps on the back.

This biscuit box came in the other day with a stack of Peekskill ephemera. I don’t usually take 3 dimensional items but this one talked to me. The 3rd photo with the Peekskill stamp on the box clenched the deal so here it is..
