Have you ever started playing with Squigz and suddenly realized you’ve been building for WAY longer than you planned? 😂

There’s a reason these are a favorite at GCM.

As children connect, pull apart, balance, and rebuild, they’re experimenting with cause and effect, strengthening fine motor skills, problem-solving, and figuring out what works.

Sometimes learning really does look like playing with suction cups. 💛

Come see what you can build!

⏰Open every day until 5pm!

Tomorrow’s Mini Makers is going to get a little messy! 🎨

We’re breaking out the shaving cream and making colorful marbled cards together!

Messy, sensory play isn’t just fun. As little hands swirl, mix and create, they’re exploring cause and effect, strengthening fine motor skills, and discovering what happens when colors and textures come together.

Some of our favorite team members are back at GCM! 💙💜💛

Every Monday and Tuesday, students from the Galveston Independent School District Ball High Tor Store help with the real work of keeping a children’s museum going, from cleaning and organizing to preparing displays and caring for our spaces.

They’re gaining workplace experience, practicing independence and building skills through real responsibilities. And at the same time, they are making a real contribution to GCM.

They’re not just here to learn. They’re valuable members of our team.

A strong community creates opportunities for people with different strengths and abilities to participate, contribute and belong. We’re grateful to have this crew as part of ours. 💜💛

🍦 How many can you stack?

It starts with one scoop... and then you HAVE to see how high you can go. 😂

Come give it a try this week at the Galveston Children's Museum. We’re open every day until 5 PM and ready for a little weekday play!

Got a middle schooler looking for their people? 💙

That’s what S.W.A.P. is all about.

Saturday included community challenges with our Texas A&M University Galveston Campus Sea Aggies, acting (and MANY rounds of Assassins 😂) with Tanner Ellis, creative arts with Ibraìm Nascìmento, pizza, laughter, and time to connect.
And there’s more coming!

📣 We’ll have TWO S.W.A.P. sessions in September before Galveston Children's Museum begins our move in October.

Already registered? Watch your email for dates and details.

Not registered yet? S.W.A.P. is FREE for middle school students, and we have room for a few more!
