🍝 A very special thank you to Chef Concetta Maceo!

Today, Cooking with Concetta lead our campers through the process of making fresh pasta and sauce from scratch. From mixing ingredients to kneading dough, campers experienced firsthand how food brings together science, creativity, culture, and community.

One of the highlights of the day was watching children gain confidence as they transformed a few simple ingredients into something delicious with their own hands.

To make the experience even more memorable, every family received a jar of Maceo Spice and Import Company gravy to take home and enjoy together.

At the Galveston Children's Museum, we believe some of the most meaningful learning happens when children connect with experts from our community.

We are grateful to all of you who share your knowledge, inspire our campers, and help create a truly unforgettable experience.

🙋‍♀️ Be honest... would your child try papaya at home?

Today, our campers did. 🌈

With special guest Chef Mary Bass, campers created fruit kebabs, made a delicious dipping sauce, and tasted fruits many had never tried before, including papaya and yellow watermelon!

A huge thank you to Chef Mary for helping our campers discover that trying new foods can be an adventure.

This camp sold out for a reason. 🧵✨

Our Stitch & Design campers spent the week learning to sew on real sewing machines, creating original projects, and building confidence through hands-on learning.

The highlight? A Community Showcase where campers shared their creations and what they learned with family members and community supporters.

Watching campers proudly present their work is one of our favorite parts of summer camp. ❤️

Thank you E Ektefaei Designs for spending the week with us and having campers think through design

Thank you to our community members from MarMo Plaza Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce Galveston Island and Vision Galveston for taking time to stop by and chat with the campers

A special thank you to all of the families for trusting us with your campers and coming to support them on Thursday!

If you're still looking for summer camps, don't wait, many of our remaining camps are filling quickly.

✨ Today, the lights went down and creativity lit up! ✨

Our Glow Art Camp transformed into a neon art studio as campers explored color, light, and creativity through hands-on projects.

🎨 Neon dot sticker art
🌀 Glow-in-the-dark spin art
🌟 Pipe cleaner creations
💡 Blacklight painting
✨ And plenty of opportunities to experiment, imagine, and create

The best part? There was no "right" way to make art.

Campers tested ideas, solved problems, and discovered how different materials behaved under blacklight.

At the Galveston Children's Museum, we know art is more than making something pretty. It's about creativity, confidence, fine motor skills, and learning to think outside the box.

Judging by the smiles today, Glow Art Camp was a glowing success! 💜💚🩷

🇳🇱🧡 A little piece of the World Cup excitement rolled through Galveston Island today!

Our campers stepped outside to cheer on the Dutch Orange Bus as it made its way through town on its journey toward the FIFA World Cup. Waving flags, sharing smiles, and celebrating with visitors from around the world made for a memorable summer camp moment.

At the Galveston Children's Museum, we love creating opportunities for children to connect with the world beyond our walls. Moments like these spark curiosity, build cultural awareness, and remind us that big events can inspire young minds in unexpected ways.

Did you spot the Orange Bus in Galveston today?
