We’re welcoming Komie Kim Le to GAC, June 13, for the ArtWalk Opening Reception of her upcoming exhibition “All-You-Can-Eat”.

“All-You-Can-Eat” features everyday objects and food from Vietnamese-American life - crab pots, baskets, fish sauce bottles - transformed into exuberant ceramic sculptures that reveal immigrant memory, humor, and resilience. She manipulates traditional Asian pottery forms with maximalist decoration, mirroring the overlapping influences accumulated through multicultural experiences. Through this tactile language, Komie explores how food, ritual, and domestic objects become markers of belonging and identity.

Her vessels carry stories of migration, family, and the joyful chaos of cultural hybridity. Through material play and color, Komie celebrates what she describes as a “naïve yet prideful” inheritance of Vietnamese-ness—an identity shaped by both traditions and pop culture influences.

Celebrate the opening of the Art Lending Library at GAC, at this evening’s ArtWalk, May 9.

The Art Lending Library operates like a regular library, but ALL members are able to check out original works of art instead of books.

After a successful run from 2017 to 2020, the Art Lending Library has relaunched in partnership with GAC.

Nick Barbee founded the Art Lending Library to make living with contemporary art more accessible, addressing the cost and intimidation that often keep people away while helping local artists reach wider audiences.

Join us for ArtWalk, May 9, from 6PM - 9PM, to learn more about the Art Lending Library & how to become an ALL member.

🎶 Live music from 6PM - 8PM by Raa Tansiel.
