Creative Crowella is honored to have been awarded 1st place in the 2026 Scarecrow Festival! ⭐ She was mightily impressed by all of the festive fellow scarecrow contestants, and the many local businesses, volunteers, and organizers who made this year's Scarecrow Festival so vibrant. Despite a few falls and some rainy, windy days, the scarecrows stood tall till the end!

We hope you enjoyed walking around downtown and enjoying the scarecrows on display as much as we did! Thank you to Seminary Street Historic Downtown District and for putting this fun seasonal event together, and to everyone who voted on their favorites.

Great-Great-GREAT Bowls of Soup will once again span all three floors: galleries will be filled with art, we'll have live wheel-throwing demos, a cash bar, and plenty of fall fun! 🍂

The GGGBOS Dinner Event includes one handmade artist bowl of your choice (browsing all three floors for that special bowl is part of the experience!) + a 5-Soup Flight — plus, charcuterie, dessert, music, art, and more! 🕟 Doors open at 4:30pm for VIB/Early Access ticketholders, or at 5pm for all other ticketholders.

Spend a day with the amazing Larry Jon Davis, and learn all about his conceptual and technical approach to abstract painting! Experience the magic of Larry's art in his forthcoming workshop at GCAC on 📅 SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24th! 🎨

In "What You See is What You Get," Larry will offer a morning lecture/lab followed by a short break and then an afternoon painting demonstration. All materials for the morning/interactive lab portion will be provided.

🔸 The morning: Start with an interactive lecture/lab on abstracted drawing and composition. Follow along as Larry demonstrates important principles of his artistic approach.
🔸 The afternoon: Larry Jon Davis will demonstrate his painting approach to abstraction. Watch, learn, ask questions! (This portion is just a demo -- you will observe and casually converse with Larry as you witness his process in action!)

🖼 If you weren't able to collect your kiddo's artwork from Walnut Grove Farm (Kids Rock the Arts Contest) this past weekend, you can pick up any remaining piece(s) from the Galesburg Community Arts Center (349 East Main Street) this week during open hours!

All students also receive a free art supply bag from Blick Art Materials. ⭐

We are open 11-4 Wednesday through Friday and 10-3 on Saturdays. Work should be collected by the end of October (10/31/26). 🍂 🎃
