The Southeast Kansas Nature Center will be temporarily closed to public access beginning March 5th due to a staffing transition.

Director Jenn Rader will be moving into a new role as Education Specialist at the Kansas Wetlands Education Center at Cheyenne Bottoms, and we thank her for her service to the Nature Center and community.

During this time, we will begin the search for a new Director while the City of Galena works on maintenance and improvements to the facility. A local volunteer will continue assisting with the care of exhibit animals while the center is closed.

Updates will be shared once the Director position has been filled. Thank you for your patience and support.
