Hosted by the Southern California Railway Association, this FREE, family weekend celebrates all things trains from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The FREE event, now in its 17th year, is presented by the Southern California Railway Plaza Association to honor Fullerton's founding and historic rail connection with extensive train exhibits and tours, a scenic garden railroad, and more than 13,000 square feet of layouts created by modular groups in all scales -- Z to G -- to delight families and rail fans of all ages. See you there!

Many of you have asked and some may already know, but unfortunately Railroad Days 2019 has officially been cancelled. Due to ongoing construction at the Fullerton Train Station and circumstances beyond our control, it is not logistically possible to hold Railroad Days as the event you all know and love this year.

We do have plans to return next year. We do not want to see this event cancelled permanently. Our organization loves seeing the joy it brings to so many families. It’s a lot of hard work for a two-day event, but all the effort is worth it when we see a child light up at seeing a locomotive up close or operating our model train layout.

In the meantime, we are continuing to focus on events at the Fullerton Train Museum. Our next event is May 4 and will feature all the entries from our Rail Safety Poster Contest. The winners will be announced and prizes will be handed out at the event. We welcome everyone to come and see the amazing and talented artists, all ages Kindergarten through 6th Grade. Please come out and support these kids as well as the museum.

Calling all Amazon shoppers! How would you like to help continue Railroad Days in Fullerton just by shopping online?

Amazon has a program called AmazonSmile and they will donate .5% of the purchase price of eligible products to the Southern California Railway Plaza Association Inc, the non-profit organization that runs Railroad Days.

Simply go to https://smile.amazon.com/ch/33-0776081 from a web browser and our organization's unique link will take you directly to Amazon in support of the SCRPA.

From there, simply log in with your existing Amazon account and shop as usual. There is no cost to you and Amazon remembers your organization choice so, if you choose to continue supporting the SCRPA, you will not need to select it every time you shop.

Every donation made to the SCRPA helps fund Railroad Days so we can continue to bring you the event free of charge year after year. We thank you in advance and happy shopping!

When you shop at AmazonSmile, Amazon will donate to Southern California Railway Plaza Association Inc. Support us every time you shop.

After much consideration, it is with regret that we must announce that Railroad Days 2018 has been cancelled. Due to a major construction project at the Fullerton Train Station, we are unable to present the event at the same caliber that guests have come to know and love.

In the meantime, the Fullerton Train Museum will continue to hold smaller events, such as the upcoming Spring Fling Train on March 17. We hope you will come out and support the museum and the Southern California Railway Plaza Association so that we may continue to bring you these smaller events as well as Railroad Days weekends in the future.

Per Santa Fe 3751, here is the latest TENTATIVE information regarding the steam train's move to Railroad Days:

"Following morning preparations, the locomotive will be inspected and moved to the northern end of Amtrak’s yard to join the accompanying BNSF Railway and Amtrak equipment that will also be on display in Fullerton this weekend. The move from Los Angeles to Fullerton is *TENTATIVELY scheduled to follow Amtrak 774, which if on time departs Los Angeles at 12:33 p.m. During this move, 3751 will be operate in reverse as this will place the locomotive facing the right direction for its display at Railroad Days. Our projected arrival time to Fullerton is around 2:00 p.m.
*The word ‘tentatively’ is used as this move to Fullerton is not an operating, revenue train. Knowing this, there is the possibility that 3751 will depart earlier or later than projected as best fits the need of the railroad at that time so as not to interfere with revenue trains. The SBRHS will do its utmost to keep our supporters and fans up-to-date on the movements of the locomotive and any changes in the schedule projected to take place."

Follow Santa Fe 3751 on Facebook for more information.

Rossen Reports update: See how long it can take to hear a train coming

We love seeing people enjoying Railroad Days and sharing their photos of the large scale and model train exhibits, but we want them to do so safely. Please remember, not only is it illegal to be on live railroad tracks, it can be deadly. This video is a great demonstration of how quickly a train can sneak up on a person.

For more information about track safety, you can visit Operation Lifesaver Inc.

Out of concern for the safety of our guests, we will not allow anyone to share photos of themselves or others on the mainline tracks and will remove any instances thereof.

A popular trend in photography is taking pictures and video on train tracks — but it could have deadly consequences. TODAY national investigative correspondent Jeff Rossen shows just how easy it is to get caught in a dangerous situation.

So what exactly is this? I’m having trouble finding out what actually goes on for this event.
Does anyone know if there will be a Railroad Days this May of 2019? I haven't seen any announcement of an event this year.
