Attention Artists
It's not too early - Right Now - to start getting ready for the next Big Show here at Florida Wildflower Studios in Frostproof - and you DO NOT want to miss it!
World-renown artist Thomas Brooks has agreed to judge our upcoming "Florida Now and Then" Art Show and Contest going up in January.
The event will feature the Ben Hill Griffin Legacy Award, named in honor of Ben Hill Griffin III, who died July 25 this year.
Categories are "Photography"; "2-D Art" & "Creative Writing"
(Your "Creative Writing" entry should be a written "accompaniment" to your artwork. It can be a story, poem or commentary and will be judged separately from your artwork.)
"Florida Now & Then" entries are due Jan 4-6, (2021) 10a.m. - 3 p.m. (dropoff can be scheduled earlier if necessary, but cutoff is Jan 6, 3pm)
Entry fee is $10 members; $15 nonmembers and includes TWO Items
Artwork must be original, created after Feb.1, 2020, and properly framed, wired and Ready-To-Hang. NO SAWTOOTH HANGERS
Entries will go up in The Gray Gallery for the show opening Jan 11, 2021. World-renown artist Thomas Brooks has agreed to judge the show and we'll host an awards ceremony Friday, Feb. 26, 5pm., after which your entries may be taken down or may be picked up by March 5

While it remains true that here at Florida Wildflower Studios in Frostproof I will welcome at most any time anyone who wishes to discuss photography, My fears about our country's Coronavirus tells me that we may not be safe for a Foto Club meeting until October ... So ... The next Photo Club meeting is now scheduled for the Third Saturday in October, which looks to be Oct. 17. 9am - Noon-ish. Let's try it.
Please feel free to stop in any Wednesday if you feel like talking about photography (like having a mini-meeting).
