Do you remember this building? Once located in Tustin, this is the original bar built by Norman and Ella Bucholtz in the late 1950's. They operated the tavern until Norm's untimely death in 1974. His son, Gene, took ownership at that time up until 1981. Charles Gerard and his wife, Ruth, purchased it and ran the business from 1982-85. "Hermie" Schweb's purchased the business and named it "Normaine's", a combination of his name, Norman, and his partners name, Germaine. Friday nights were busy in Tustin as their fish fries were popular. Records show that by 2000, Big City, LLC purchased this old building, tore it down and replaced it with a new restaurant and bar. For the next 15-20 years various people leased the business and it was then finally sold and turned into a vacation rental by the current owners.
