The Friends of Gillespie County Country Schools cordially invites all to the Annual General Meeting this Monday, October 5 being hosted at the historic Willow City School at 6:00 PM. Anyone who is a member of any of the Community Clubs and Caretaker Groups of the historic schools is encouraged to attend. We will have a very short business meeting, to elect officers for year 2027, have refreshments and visit. Mr. Carey Behrends' wonderful display called “A Nation and Symbol Born: 250 Years United States Flag Evolution”, a tribute detailing the magnitude of the US Flag throughout our history, is in the west room for anyone who did not get to see the exhibit at the Fair. What a special treat to all to view! Come one, Come all to the Willow City School, Monday, October 5 at 6 pm. www.HistoricSchools.org

All are invited to the Willow City Community Club on Friday, October 2, at 6:45 p.m. at the Willow City School Building/Community Center, located at 2501 Ranch Road 1323.
A short business meeting will be held first, followed by games of “42” dominoes and socializing. All are invited to enjoy games of “42” dominoes and a simple neighborhood social. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish, snack or dessert to share and to please bring their own beverages for the evening.
Guests are cordially invited and new members are always welcome.
All are reminded that the Willow City School will be open to the public Monday, October 5 beginning at 6 p.m. for the Friends of Gillespie County Country Schools Annual Membership Meeting and Social. All individuals interested in preserving memories of former rural schools and/or involved in maintaining these properties are invited to stop by and tour the school building built in 1905 and enjoy light refreshments.
The Historic Willow City School Building is available for rent for social gatherings, such as birthday parties, classes, meetings, receptions, reunions, and rest stops for bicycle and auto tours. For more information about the Club or rental of the property, please call the Schoolhouse Reservation Secretary at 830-685-3385.
The property is part of the Gillespie County Country Schools Trail and listed in the Register of National Historic Places and the Country School Association of America National Schoolhouse Registry.

Here is a historic former rural school that will host an open house on October 17 in Pipe Creek, Texas. All are invited to come.

Please join us for Polly’s Schoolhouse Open House!

Guests will have the opportunity to step inside the fully restored schoolhouse, learn about the history of Polly, Texas, and witness the official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony marking this special milestone. Light refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be avalible.
