Nick Waters of American Storytellers travels across the country, keeping history alive with his remarkable true stories. Today, he captivated Frederick 4th-grade students with the amazing story of the Abernathy brothers who traveled from Frederick, Oklahoma, to both California and New York on horseback as young boys.

The program was organized by the Tillman County Historical Society. The Society extends special thanks to Nick for his dedication to our story, Mrs. Yeager and the crew at FES for allowing the kids to come, and the Frederick Arts Council for the use of the Lois Long Center while the Pioneer Townsite's Red Barn is undergoing repairs.
