If you enjoy learning about Hagerstown and Frederick Railway history and other local transportation, why not consider volunteering to help the Boonsboro Trolley Station Museum?

The museum is a partnership between our organization and the National Road Heritage Foundation, and is open every Saturday year round. No prior experience or knowledge is required, and it's a great opportunity to begin learning more about the railway without a whole lot of obligation.

There is a recruitment event being held at the museums this coming Saturday, March 14th! Stop by and ask about being a docent/host In the Trolley Station! The recruitment event is being held inside of the National Road Museum.

Would you like to be a more active part of your community? Do you have a love for history? Do you have an interest in transportation? If the answer is yes to ANY of these, consider stopping and learning about volunteer opportunities at the National Road Museum and Boonsboro Trolley Station Museum!

March 14th from 11-3 we will have members of our organizations leadership team on hand to answer questions and provide information about our parent organization, the National Road Heritage Foundation, and everything we do!

Volunteering costs you nothing but time, but it can have a huge value to the communities we serve! Find out how YOU can make history with your time!

Can't make it on the 14th? Feel free to stop in to our museums on any Saturday and ask about volunteering, or visit https://nationalrdfoundation.org/volunteer.

As an FYI, in case you hear rumors, the H&FRHS, Inc. is remaining neutral about the disposition of Western Maryland #202 in Hagerstown.
Our individual Board members have thoughts and ideas, but the historical society is not taking one side or another.

It’s with a sad heart that we learned of the death of Wanda Easterday this week. Wanda is the widow of Don who rescued and restored car #150. After Don’s death Wanda worked with the Town of Myersville to transfer ownership of #150 for further restoration and place it in the Myersville library.
