Formed 1884, ceased operations 1940.
Account book listing expenses and receipts of milk including dates and amounts of milk received (handwritten in German without translation). Loose documents found between the pages include stock certificate, Michigan Dept. of Food & Agriculture Registration Certificate, and insurance form from Deutschen Frankenmuther Unterstützungs-Verein ($800 + $200 +500 for building, $1000 + $500 for cheese).

The Michigan State Fair 🎡🎪 is this Labor Day weekend (3rd-7th) at the Showplace in Novi. Catch up on all the Fair history and see some neat pictures in this Images of America book for sale in the Frankenmuth Historical Museum gift shop.

We are still going to have some warm days this year, so when you need some refreshments, stop into the museum gift shop.
Sprite 🧝‍♂️is half off ($.75) now until they're gone (we have 18 left) for its 65th anniversary of being sold in the US.
We have $1 water and you can even buy a "book 📗 for a buck" (which has some excerpts on Satow's too)!
These, along with our $5 admission for adults and $1/child, are the best deals in town.

An unused postcard, featuring a black and white photo of St. Lorenz Church. There is a 1930 two-door model A parked to the right of the front entrance. The large spruce trees shade the front of the church. You can also see large gravestones gracing the entrance of the church. This photograph depicts a much simpler time. You can hear the calm just looking at the photo and it makes you wonder what life might have been like back in the ''Good Old Days."

Special night unveiling Stephen Christopher Hargash's newest mural, "See You at Satow's." For many, Satow's was a special "Third Place" that just felt like home. Tonight was a night to remember not only the place, but moreover, the people who made Satow's special.

Thank you to everyone who came out, celebrated this special night, and made the mural a possibility. We loved hearing everyone's memories! What was your favorite memory of Satow's?

Tomorrow is Free Admission Day at the Frankenmuth Historical Museum for everyone! 🆓 In recognition of the founding of Frankenmuth in 1845 by a small group of German Lutherans led by Pastor August Craemer, the admission fee (normally $5/adults, $1/student/child and still a great bargain) will be waived on Tuesday, August 18th. The museum will be open its regular hours of 10-5, so if you haven't been a tourist in your own town in a while, it is a great day to rediscover the history.

This weekend the 49th annual Great Lakes Rendezvous encampment is happening at Cross Park in Frankenmuth Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 10-2. The public is invited to stop out and see the living history educators and reenactors portray the different ways of life of early settlers, voyageurs, fur traders and Native Americans.
