🌟Original Works Series Open Call for Scripts🌟
Calling all playwrights who want to see their play produced on a professional level! The Original Works Series has opened a call for scripts! Open to all playwrights who want to showcase their *original* work! A panel of theater professionals will review all submitted scripts and select the top eight (8) submitted scripts to receive a staged reading. After the readings have been presented, The Arts Center will select one (1) script to receive a full production for presentation in the spring of 2024’s Arts Center Presents season in the Hardy and Betty Sander Theatre. The selected playwright will be presented a $500 royalty.

Join us Friday, September 2, 2022, 6:30 – 8 p.m. at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center for the performance of a new sound work by collaborative duo CALCIUM in support of their upcoming exhibition 'thinking of all the things that drank me.'

Part Poet / Part Sculptor, CALCIUM is the collaborative duo of UT Dallas School of Arts Humanities and Technology lecturer Laura Neal and Assistant Professor SV Randall, exploring entangled ecosystems and embedded narratives within nature.

JUROR: Narong Tintamusik is an artist and independent curator based in Dallas, Texas.

Texas Artists Coalition members with active accounts may submit up to three artworks open to all disciplines with no theme and all mediums accepted with no size restrictions. One artist will be selected for a 2023 solo exhibition in one of Arts Fort Worth's seven galleries. ​

'Bunner Sisters' is a full-length play adapted by Martin M. Zuckerman from the novella by Edith Wharton and presented by Resolute Theatre Project

'Fair Trade', a play in two acts, was written by Seth Freeman and presented by Upright Theatre Co.

Announcing a new Printing Workshop with Ben Muñoz! Curious about printmaking? Or are you an experienced printmaker and want to pick up some pointers from one of the best? All skill levels are welcome to join us Saturday, July 16 from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.!

Learn how to weave with round reed, begin with a star base, weave a spiral to form the walls, and finish the lip of the basket during Sarita's Twined Basket Weaving Workshop. Join us for an artist talk with Claire Kennedy and Victoria Gonzales, who will discuss the common themes in their solo exhibitions. Kennedy's exhibition 'One Fingers, Once Hand' finds the artist creating her own language by mediating on found and fabricated objects, then placing them strategically to converse with each other and the viewer, while breaking away from the expectations of the material and space. In the exhibition 'Into a Spacious Place' Gonzales creates a record of mundane yet impactful experiences of everyday life. Memory and space create a visual narrative of the physical and metaphorical ways [she] navigates the world around [her]. Space is sometimes a place of comfort or other times a souvenir of a distant event.
