Vintage Flying Museum is a 501C (3) Non Profit Organization. Your admission to tour the museum is an important contribution to the preservation of these

important aircraft. Want to do more? Talk to one of our museum volunteers! The primary mission of the Vintage Flying Museum is to preserve America’s flying heritage in Word, Deed and Action. Numerous aircraft are on exhibit including several which are extremely rare and historic. Additional displays include a dedicated reciprocal and jet engine display, WWII memorabilia and artifact exhibits, a unique aircraft model exhibit and gift shop. One of our greatest achievements and contributions to the community is the development of our aviation education programs. Since 1993, the Vintage Flying Museum has been offering the Dallas/Fort Worth Community a broad-based series of educational programs. These programs include 'History In Their Own Words' speaker series, the STEM ready curriculum 'Lesson Plans That Fly', 'Warbird 101' maintenance classes and 'Take Flight Days'. The Museum has also created a series of educational information panels highlighting the history of aviation and women in aviation. These panels are available for loan thru Texas Lakes Trails Region.

On this Memorial Day we pause to give thanks to and remember all of those who have given their lives in service to this great country of ours.
The founder of the Vintage Flying Museum U.S. Army Colonel (ret) William “Doc” Hospers is laid to rest at DFW National Cemetery as are USN AVCM (ret) Bill Mego and USN AT2 Mark “Swish” Swisher. Bill and Mark were the driving force behind the acquisition and restoration of our EA-3B Skywarrior “Whale”. They were tragically lost in a car accident together after delivering some A-3 parts to Corpus Christie to support the A-3 restoration on the Lexington Museum.
The museum has been blessed to have many veterans as volunteers and guests. All gave some, some gave all. To them we are in forever in their debt for the freedoms we cherish. Salute!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Do you LOVE aviation history? Do you enjoy helping people and giving back to the community at the same time? Or do you enjoy getting your hands dirty once in a while (or all the time)? We are 100% volunteer run, zero paid staff!

We need help in several areas; gift shop, tour guides, facilities maintenance (painting, carpentry, HVAC, plumber, electrician, etc), diesel forklift and tug maintenance, marketing, volunteer coordination & training, aircraft tug drivers, wing walkers, cleaning aircraft and exhibits, organizing our parts inventory

We are only open Friday - Sunday, you work as much or as little as your schedule allows. This is a great opportunity for retirees, and students who are out for the summer and need volunteer hours. Training provided for all positions (except those building trades and diesel mechanic - we're not a trade school).

If you are interested and would like more information please email [email protected] or just show up any weekend!
