Artlink is excited to present three new exhibitions opening on Feb 13: Embodied, Verdure, and In the Wild! Join us for an opening reception held on Thursday, Feb 13 from 5-8pm!

Embodied
This solo exhibition by Phoebe Scott will feature a series of sculptures made of clay that explore the stories and experiences of the human form. The majority of these figures will be lifesized, each figure existing in a varied degree of wholeness. These works are all part of Scott’s continued examination of how humans experience their bodies and capture moments, not of self-awareness but of budding awareness of embodiment.

Verdure
For Laurén Gerig’s solo exhibition, she has created a series of paintings exploring the idea of space by merging present experience with past landscapes traversed. Embedded in the layers are subtle, poetic marks and dense swaths of paint where imagery is at times simultaneously poignant and ambiguous. These paintings are tangible collections of moments of stillness among movement and change. Recurring themes populate the canvases, such as wandering, walking in the woods, along the shores of the Great Lakes, and window views.

In the Wild: Art About Nature
In the Wild is a juried group exhibition exploring the endless beauty and intricacies of nature. Any visual art responding to the natural world was eligible and Artlink received over 350 entries. The juror of this exhibition, Ellen Mensch, just over 30 artworks to be exhibited, including a wide range of mediums and artistic styles.

A place for emerging artists and art forms

Artlink is a 501(c)3 nonprofit creative arts center and gallery founded in 1978 by a group of art enthusiasts, patrons and artists to promote awareness of emerging artists and art forms. Our mission is to invest in opportunities for diverse visual artists and engage the regional community.

Over 40 years, Artlink has been dedicated to emerging artists and art forms. Through artist-focused programming, Artlink works to provide the resources and opportunities artists need to build a sustainable career in the arts and continue to make. We encourage artists to apply for exhibitions in our gallery space, attend our weekly figure drawing classes, collaborate and build an artist community through Drawn Together and Collaboratorium, and build their artistic career through 212 and The Art Market.

Artlink 40 Year Legacy 1976 Bruce Linker founded Linker's Gallery in his apartment to showcase emerging artists' work at 1117 1⁄2 Broadway Street. 1978 Artlink opened in the summer of 1978 by a group of young artists to promote awareness of emerging artists and art forms at 1126 Broadway Street. This space housed gallery and performance rooms, a studio for artists, and a library. 1988 Artlink moved to 1030 Broadway Street. 1991 Artlink became a funded partner of Arts United and moved to the Hall Community Arts Center at 437 E. Berry Street. 2011 Artlink moved to its current location in the Auer Center for Arts & Culture at 300 East Main Street. This move doubled the size of our gallery space and provided workrooms, office spaces, and two classrooms that house our Open Arts programs.

2018 Artlink celebrates 40 years as an arts organization established to support emerging artists and art forms.
