Today is the museum's 50th birthday!

On July 6th, 1974, the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum opened to the public. To celebrate this occasion, we will offer free admission all day, as well as pin just like the gentlemen in the photo are wearing. Our curatorial staff will be hosting special programming, beginning at 2pm.

This special day is sponsored by Gary Lee with Indiana's Home Team Realtors (North Eastern Group Realty)

1950 Crosley Station Wagon Model CD For Sale
$6500 Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Very solid car with great potential. Restoration started. 99% of all parts are there. Runs quiet and smooth. Likely rebuilt without receipts. Many images. Located in Fort Wayne Indiana.

This Crosley was found and purchased in 1960 from a Pawn / Salvage yard in Fort Wayne, Indiana by a member of the Police Athletic League. It was soon transformed into a mini Police Car and used in one of the earliest Three Rivers Festival Parades in downtown Fort Wayne.
The car was retained and stored for nearly 60 years by the same family. It was purchased by the current steward from the family in 2023.

It appears to be mostly original with minimal changes during the initial restoration efforts. (with the exception of lights and siren!) It is being painted in colors similar to the original Sea Foam Turquoise.
The car was reported to have been (from multiple local sources) stored at a city garage for decades. Which explains the lack of rust. The floor pans were replaced, for some reason, and are not fully finished. There is NO proper grill with the car. Nearly ALL of the ORIGINAL interior cardboard panels are there! All of the original glass is there, but about half needs to be recut due to cracks. I sadly cracked the windshield when spacing them apart this summer. The ORIGNAL paint can be found under the hood and inside the doors. The extra set of odd door panel with the car are from a mid-sixties Ford or Mercury as part of the Police appearance. Tires have zero wear, but age is unknown. still soft and not cracked. gauges are not hooked up. Battery is old and drains easily. Engine starts and is whisper quiet. Carb is rebuilt. Currently electric fuel pump but new unit is included.
