What a fantastic event this morning at the Upper Dublin Public Library! 🇺🇸 As part of Montgomery County Pennsylvania Houses of Declaration program, we participated in a public reading of the Declaration of Independence. There was a great turnout by community members to celebrate 250 years of the Declaration! Our own Historical Society of Fort Washington President Matt Brasch represented as one of the readers, and many visitors came to our info table and learned more about the Society from Marianne Matt and Jim Adams! Thanks to the UDPL for including us and happy Fourth of July!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🎉

Thanks to everyone who came out for our Annual Picnic this week! It was a wonderful evening and the weather was perfect. Evenings like this make it easy to understand why The Clifton House and its serene grounds was once a summer destination for Philadelphians looking to escape the heat of the city! To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, we welcome Dr. Emily Sneff, the !! Emily will share stories with us from her new book “When the Declaration of Independence was News”! Please note: because this is a fantastic and timely program, we are holding it at the Wissahickon Valley Library in Blue Bell AND we will start at 6:15pm! As always, light refreshments to follow. Special thanks to the Wissahickon Valley Library and the Upper Dublin Library for helping to make this happen!! See you on May 19 (NOT at The Clifton House!)
