Another heat advisory?! The Camp Walton Schoolhouse did not have air conditioning when it opened in 1912 but it most certainly has one today! The schoolhouse has AC and dehumidifiers so that our 100+ year-old building and the artifacts inside can survive Florida's heat and humidity.

So come visit us during this week of HOT. The Indian Temple Mound Museum is open 10am-3pm Tue-Sat and the Schoolhouse and historic buildings are open 10:30am-2:30pm Tue-Sat. One admission covers it all! (and the AC!)

We've had some wild weather these past two weeks in Fort Walton! The winds knocked down two trees on top of the Temple Mound, including this one which snapped about eight feet above the ground. Nothing was damaged, other than the trees, and the only other storm effects were lots of downed sticks and such.

The Indian Temple Mound Museum is open 10am-3pm Tue-Sat and our Historic Buildings are open 10:30am-2:30pm Tues-Sat, and if you're done cooking in the sun on the beach, stop by and visit!
