More wonderful enhancements are taking root in the Highwaymen Museum’s garden!

A heartfelt thank you to Deejay Gardner, Joseph Hayek, and Rob Gardner for generously donating and installing beautiful staghorn ferns and bromeliads in the magnificent oak tree that anchors our paver garden.

These thoughtful additions bring even more of Florida’s natural beauty to the Museum grounds, creating an inviting space for visitors to enjoy before and after exploring the inspiring story of the 26 original Florida Highwaymen.

Every act of generosity—whether through volunteering, donating, planting, or purchasing a commemorative brick—helps our Museum continue to grow and flourish.

We invite you to stop by, stroll the courtyard, and experience this special place for yourself.

Today, the Florida Highwaymen Museum opened its doors for a private guided tour of 20 with Sydney Liebman.

Led by our Chairwoman, Doretha Hair Truesdell, guests experienced the inspiring story of the Florida Highwaymen through personal stories, historical insights, and a closer look at the artists whose determination transformed Florida’s cultural landscape.

Visitors also enjoyed our current exhibition, featuring works by all 26 original Florida Highwaymen from a single private collection, and explored our beautiful grounds, including the engraved brick courtyard and mosaic benches.

A heartfelt thank you to our Board members and volunteers for helping create such a memorable experience. We were honored to share this important chapter of Florida history with today’s guests and hope to welcome them back again soon.

🚧 We’re Open! Due to construction on Avenue D, we’ve posted an alternate route to help you reach the Museum with ease. Simply follow the directions on the map, and you’ll be able to enter on Means Court through the open double gates and park inside.
