“A true portrayal of the spirit and work of the WAC” - those were the words of LTC Anna Wilson, WAC Director in the European Theater during World War II, after viewing the work of WAC artist SGT Ann B. Tilson. Now you can see her candid watercolor paintings of the Women’s Army Corps during the war in a new online exhibit. For over 100 years, Fort Lee has supported the U.S. Army. Women play a pivotal role in that history, from the start. To learn more about the very beginning of the installation and the women who helped guide a nation through a global pandemic explore the new exhibit “The Charming Ladies in White: The Female Medical Staff of WWI.”

This exhibit, developed by one the museum’s awesome summer interns, features fascinating photographs and other archival documents including a 1919 yearbook.
