Please join us for a special reception! The Florence County Library's Morris Gallery is pleased to announce a new exhibit featuring the works of esteemed artist Nikolai Oskolkov on Thursday, October 9, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public, and will feature catered refreshments and live music. The exhibit is made possible through the generosity of Florence native Willson Powell, who has donated twenty of Mr. Oskolkov's paintings, as well as a substantial monetary gift, to the Friends of Florence County Library in memory of the late Dr. N. Lee Morris, for whom the library's gallery is named. The paintings will become a valued addition to the library's permanent collection.

The August issue of Carolina Arts is ready to go. Download today as Tom assures us that there are a pile of things to do this weekend. Start planning your art adventures now. Remember - the magazine is in PDF format and always FREE!

This month's art cover is an intriguing piece. You might say that this artist paints with paper. ZAD Creations uses quilling techniques in a 2d and 3D space to create pieces that will have you examining not only the piece in its entirety but also all the constituent parts, as in "how did she do that?" Beautiful to look at and interesting to study, it's another great choice of artist by Carolina Arts.

What a beautiful watercolor gracing the cover of July's Carolina Arts magazine!!! The magazine is FREE and it is downloadable as a PDF. NO need to get another app which is such a pain.
The work is that of a South Carolina artist who obviously has continued to grow her talents throughout the decades of her creative life. Read all about it!! There are also numerous upcoming exhibitions to visit - all within reasonable driving distance. Take a look! Get inspired! Enjoy the reminder that there are lots of beautiful things in life still surrounding us if we take a moment to look. The July issue is a good starting point.
