To Our Friends and Patrons-

Somi will close it's doors at the end of Sunday's reception, Fall in Love with Art, which is from 1-4pm. And with that, we bring to a close the co op venture that began three years ago at the Stangl Factory.

During those years, the gallery has been run by local artists and has offered paintings, sculptures, tapestries, jewelry, ceramics and photography for sale. The gallery has also hosted literary readings, poetry evenings, storytelling events, live music, fundraisers, wedding receptions, and open studios for artists to work from live models.

However, we find that we cannot financially sustain the gallery at this time. We appreciate the thousands of people who have come through the gallery and have enjoyed the art, and we are especially grateful to those who have purchased our work to experience it further.

Art enriches our lives. Art inspires, challenges, confronts, nurtures, but most of all, it speaks. It is the voice of the artist.

For those of you who have not had the opportunity to visit the gallery, please join us this Sunday from 1-4pm, take that leap, and Fall in love with art.

Join us this Sunday, October 4th from 1-4pm for an artist reception hosted by Somi member, Cass Schafer

Cass is a conceptual artist , who manipulates shape, space, and surfaces, to push the boundaries of traditional painting. She likes to experiment with color and space.

She will present new works as well as her older " field paintings".

Support Hunterdon Helpline. Somi is pleased to open our doors for Town Crawlers to enjoy a lovely evening, culminating at the gallery for deserts by Factory Fuel on Tuesday Sept. 29th. We will also give %10 of any sales that evening to Hunterdon Helpline.

OPEN STUDIO-starts this Thursday, Sept.10th. 7-9PM Clothed model and still life for you to choose from. Some boards available. Bring easel if you prefer. $13 includes refreshment. If you're interested to model, we're taking names. For more details, contact Petia 908-285-1800.

The gallery artists will take an end of the summer break and the gallery will be closed from 8/28-8/30. We will reopen September 3 with new hours. Stay tuned. More to follow about our upcoming open studio on Thursday evenings.

Great musical event tonight right next door to SOMI fine art. Michael Ronstadt ( brother of Linda) is performing in a benefit. Judging from what I hear already during warm up, it looks to be a great event.
